Saturn Retailers Preparing for No New Vehicles
Beginning sometime in the next couple of weeks, GM will be promoting the final closeout of Saturn vehicles that it produced for its retailers. They want to clear the decks of any GM/Saturn vehicles in anticipation of Penske/Saturn vehicles.
So, there will probably be some great deals to be had later this summer.
Here is the kicker, though: I have been told from some Saturn retailers that they will not be able to order new Penke Saturns until October. The plan is for GM to continue to supply Penske with the VUE, AURA and OUTLOOK at least until Penske can get his vehicle plan into place. If they can’t order until October, it will be December at the earliest that Saturn retailers will receive vehicles.
So, if you want to buy a new Saturn, better do it quick!
Also, GM has taken away several of the special pricing options that some customers had. The Credit Union deal, Military deal and some others have just gone away. I can only guess that the GM employee discount and the supplier discount will suffer the same fate soon.
Hopefully, many Saturn stores will be getting their used car operations cooking. But, the catch with that is that now all remaining Saturn retailers will be going to the auction trying to get the best used Saturns they can find. Demand goes up on a limited supply and up goes the price.
I guess now is the time to buy a new or used Saturn!!!!
